We start our lap at the original start/finish straight. Since
1983 the Formula 1 start at another straight because this one was
descending too steep.

Until 1938 here was only a left hand corner, the Eau-Rouge. Since
1939 the steep right hander cuts off the l'Ancienne
Douane section. The name of this corner is
Raidillon!

Here was the original left hander.

Here we're following the original track to the l'Ancienne
Douane Hairpin.

A great view from the
Raidillon and the start/finish
straight (Thanks to the Marshalls who allowed me to take this picture from their
post).

On the Kemmel Straight to Les Combes ...

No, Les Combes is not a chicane. It's a fast left hand corner at the
highest point of the track!

After Les Combes downhill. The start of a very fast and spectacular
descent.

Haute de la Cote

At high speed to Burnenville

Burnenville

The famous house at Burnenville

The first of the fast left right combination Malmedy

The second from Malmedy

Full throttle on the Masta Straight

The famous Masta Kink. In fact is was a very fast left right
combination.

The second corner at Masta

And full throttle again at the Holowell Straight

The fast kink at Holowell

The banked corner at Stavelot. Just like the famous
Raidillon this
is an additional corner, constructed in 1947, to make the circuit faster. Before World War
Two they go straight at
this point to turn right at the intersection
a few yards further.

Exit Stavelot

The first one of a series of fast kinks at La Carriére

The surface from this part of the track is in a very bad condition!

And here is the old part ending ...

Here comes old and new together. From here the original track is
still a part of the current circuit.

Should we keep the pedal to the metal at Blanchimont?

Exit Blanchimont

This part has been modified. In 1981 the first chicane was
constructed here. At this picture from 2005 you can see the old road on the
right which was the original track. In 2007 this section has been completely
changed and the old situation is not recognizable anymore.

Since 1983 the Formula 1 start/finish was here

And after La Source we come back at the old start/finish
